What do you Want to Get from this Book?
This may be surprising to you, but here it goes: effective reading does NOT start by simply start reading a book. You are going to multiply your effectivity simply by dedicating three minutes before starting to read to decide what it is that brought you to this book specifically.
You need to establish goals for that book and decide what you want to learn from that material. By realizing what you want to know before starting to read, your mind is going to focus on finding the answers to those questions; and it will be much easier to recognize the information when you see it.
Just ask yourself, before you start to read, these two questions:
